JFK’s Grandson Says RFK Jr is a Spy

The grandson of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy, Jack Schlossberg, has publicly labeled his cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a “Russian spy.” This accusation intensifies the ongoing family dispute over RFK Jr.’s political alignment, particularly his recent endorsement of Donald Trump following the suspension of his independent 2024 presidential bid.

Schlossberg, 31, took to social media to express his views, jokingly commenting, “RFK Jr. is so obviously a Russian spy. You all think I’m joking. Hahahaha.” This seemingly humorous statement underscores the deep-rooted disagreement within the famed Kennedy family, known for its commitment to Democratic principles. Earlier this year, Schlossberg had already expressed displeasure with his 70-year-old cousin’s actions. He referred to RFK Jr.’s campaign as an “embarrassment,” accusing him of leveraging the family’s fame and indulging in conspiracy theories for personal benefit.

RFK Jr.’s decision to support Trump—a move considered uncharacteristic within the family—has exacerbated the disagreement. During a press conference, RFK Jr. applauded Trump’s approach to international relations and his efforts against corruption. Schlossberg quickly reacted to the endorsement, saying, “Never been less surprised in my life. I’ve been saying it for over a year — RFK Jr. is for sale, works for Trump. Bedfellows and loving it.”

The Kennedy family’s legacy of liberal politics and public service has made RFK Jr.’s departure from these values especially contentious. Family members argue that his positions—including vaccine skepticism and anti-establishment views—contradict the principles upheld by his late father, Robert F. Kennedy.

Although RFK Jr. has yet to respond publicly to Schlossberg’s comments, his team has downplayed the criticisms, describing them as “family disagreements blown out of proportion.” The Kennedy family, a beacon of Democratic solidarity for years, now finds itself embroiled in a highly publicized internal dispute.
