Hillary Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State, showcased a different side of her personality during a recent trip to Spain on January 19, 2024.

Stepping away from her traditional political role, Clinton was recorded trying to dance “La Macarena” with the dance’s creators, Los del Rio, at a celebratory function in Seville.

The fun-filled incident occurred after her diplomatic discussion with Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, in Madrid.

The Palacio de Dueñas, a historical site dating back to the late 16th century, was the venue for the party that was organized in honor of Clinton.

The event also marked the 30th anniversary of “La Macarena”, a song that has significant political relevance, as it was frequently played at Democratic Party gatherings during former President Bill Clinton’s campaigns in the 1990s.

A video shared on Instagram shows Clinton being encouraged to join the dance floor by Los del Rio.

Clinton’s struggle to master the renowned dance steps was evident, a fact that intrigued Spanish media, including The Olive Press.

The Olive Press amusingly remarked on Clinton’s dance skills, highlighting the contrast between her high-ranking political stature and the lighthearted dance attempt.

The event was hosted by Eugenia Martínez de Irujo, Duchess of Montoro, and her spouse Narcís Rebollo, President of Universal Music Spain.

The invitees consisted of renowned Spanish artists and performers like David Bisbal, Pablo López, and Vanesa Martín, underscoring the event’s cultural importance.

Although Clinton’s dance skills were not expert-level, her participation received a positive response from the attendees. Her involvement in this cultural event was a contrast to her usual political demeanor, revealing a more personal facet of the public figure.

The Palacio de Dueñas offered a grand setting for this blend of politics, music, and entertainment.

“La Macarena” continues to be a popular choice at parties and events, cherished for its catchy rhythm and unique dance.
