“All My Children” Star Alec Musser Dies at 50

Renowned actor Alec Musser, famed for playing Del Henry in the well-known soap opera “All My Children,” has passed away at age 50.

Musser’s life came to an end on the evening of January 12, 2024, at his residence in Del Mar, California. His fiancée, Paige Press, and his uncle, Robert, verified his passing.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the cause was suicide. Press found him on the bathroom floor with a self-inflicted wound, and a shotgun next to him.

Musser’s rise to prominence was both distinctive and notable. He initially embarked on a career as a fitness model prior to transitioning to the acting industry.

At the age of 31, Musser got his breakthrough when he secured the role of Del Henry in “All My Children.” He won the part after triumphing in the second season of the reality TV series “I Wanna Be a Soap Star” in 2005. Between 2005 and 2007, he appeared in 43 episodes of the soap opera, earning a substantial fan base.

Despite his screen appearances dwindling in later years, Musser maintained a consistent presence in the industry, making significant appearances in popular TV series such as “Desperate Housewives,” “Rita Rocks,” and in the movie “Road to the Altar.”

Musser was also featured in the 2010 film “Grown Ups,” penned by Adam Sandler. Sandler paid a touching tribute to Musser, lauding him as a “wonderful, funny good man” and “a true great sweetheart of a person.”

Apart from acting, Musser was a respected figure in the world of fitness. He appeared on various fitness magazine covers, such as Men’s Health and Men’s Workout, which showcased his passion for bodybuilding and fitness.

Musser’s social media accounts bore witness to his fitness journey and his love for skiing, surfing, and his family, including his pets. His last social media post, made a few days before his death, depicted him surfing on a hoverboard, underscoring his adventurous nature.

The announcement of Musser’s death has sparked a wave of tributes from friends, admirers, and coworkers.

Paige Press, Musser’s fiancée, expressed her sorrow on Instagram, conveying her deep loss and affirming her continuing love by stating, “I am never taking off my ring.”
