A tranquil morning at a shopping center in Dallas, Texas was disrupted when shots rang out from a red Nissan Sentra, the vehicle of four armed assailants.

According to the Dallas Police Department, the gunfire erupted just past 9 a.m. on December 27, 2023, resulting in the fatalities of Moreland Smith, 51, and Jamarcus Irving, 22.

Smith, who was at the shopping center for a morning meal, and Irving found themselves in the line of fire as the attackers indiscriminately shot into the crowd.

Stephanie Sharpe, Smith’s sister, recounted the ensuing pandemonium as individuals scrambled for cover.

In remembrance of the victims, a memorial was erected at the scene of the attack. The Dallas Police Department is actively pursuing the unidentified suspects who are still at large.

A month after the tragedy, on January 24, 2024, surveillance video was made public by the police in an effort to generate leads. A reward of $5,000, offered by Crimestoppers, awaits anyone providing information that leads to the capture of the suspects.

The video captures the moment the red sedan entered the shopping center’s parking lot. The gunmen, concealed by hoods and masks, exited the car and began shooting. This footage is now a key part of the ongoing investigation.
