On Saturday, December 16, 2023, a car accident in Billings, Montana, resulted in the deaths of four teenagers.

The incident, occurring in an industrial area around 2 a.m., involved a single vehicle colliding with a metal pole. The car’s occupants, aged between 14 and 18, were all killed in the crash.

The victims were identified as 14-year-olds Mikaylee Reiter and Zoey Harr, 17-year-old Weston Lyon, and 18-year-old Storm Skaggs. The Billings Police Department reported that two teenagers died at the scene, while the remaining two passed away after being transported to a hospital with severe injuries.

Investigations point to high speed, non-use of seatbelts, and possible alcohol involvement as factors in the crash. The car reportedly left the roadway, leading to the collision with the pole.

Following the incident, community members placed flowers and notes on a board at the crash site.

Ryan Pitman, an acquaintance of the victims, noted that he had dropped off two of the girls at one of the victim’s house earlier that evening. He was involved in a separate car accident later and was receiving hospital treatment during the time of the crash. Pitman, son of a former county commissioner, shared his loss.

The Billings Police Department is continuing their investigation to determine the full details of the crash.
