Cock fight in the cockpit?

No… a fist fight in the cockpit. Two Air France pilots have been suspended for having a physical altercation, in the cockpit on a flight from Geneva to Paris, according to officials on Sunday.

According to a report in a Swiss news source, the pilot and co-pilot got into an argument after the plane took off, and the fight had to be broken up by crew members.

A crew member had to stay in the cockpit to make sure the pilots didn’t get into it again. The flight managed to be landed safety.

France’s air investigation agency, the BEA, issued a report last week that cited several incidents of concern. At the end of 2020, there was a fuel leak on an Air France flight causing the pilots to reroute the plane, but they didn’t follow the appropriate procedure. Although the plane landed safely, the report says that the engine was at risk of catching fire and that pilots should have landed the plane right away.

Three other cases over the past five years were mentioned, indicating that pilots were not following important safety protocols.

Due to the report, Air France is doing a safety audit and adhering to the BEA’s recommendations.

The company pointed out that the four incidents were a very small percentage of the thousands of flights the airline operates safely every day.
