Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Donald Trump, is described as a junior at New York University’s satellite campus in Washington, D.C., as of Oct. 1, 2026, and in his freshman year of college he swapped a tailored look for something closer to a standard campus uniform.
Photos from 2025 of the then-19-year-old leaving New York University showed him in a white Ralph Lauren polo shirt, beige chinos, a brown leather belt and a black backpack. Secret Service personnel accompanied him during the outing.
His hair drew the most attention. He wore it longer and tousled instead of the slicked-back style long associated with him, with strands falling naturally across his forehead, seemingly without any styling product. Sharp suits and longline wool coats had been his frequent choice for high-profile family appearances, and this casual look broke plainly with that pattern. There is no indication he has publicly described the change as a deliberate reinvention.
A New Campus and a New Uniform
Barron Trump is studying business at New York University’s Stern School of Business. NYU’s Greenwich Village campus in Manhattan took him in fall 2024 as a first-time enrollee, and he reportedly made the trip to classes from Trump Tower. He then transferred to the Washington campus for the fall 2025 semester and now lives in Washington, D.C.
A Hair Change at UFC
The White House hosted the UFC Freedom 250 event in June 2026, and another noticeable hairstyle change surfaced there. A seat just behind his parents on the South Lawn held him at the Sunday, June 14, event, which was his first public outing since his father’s State of the Union address in February.
Gone was the shorter style he wore as a teenager, replaced by longer, wavy hair, Hola! reported. Darker hair and more mature features drew fast comment from social media users. His mother was the person a number of them said he increasingly resembled, while others thought he looked more subdued and less polished than usual. One viewer described him as “older, darker hair, slightly heavier, tired,” the Express reported.
Building a Brand Away From the Spotlight
Barron Trump launched SOLLOS in June 2026. Friends from Florida started the drinks brand alongside him, and the Sunshine State supplied the inspiration they modeled it on. Reporting as of Oct. 4 identified it as a premium soft drink brand called SOLLOS Yerba Mate. The company rolled out its first product in 2026. He is listed as a founding partner and director, though the role of public face belongs to someone other than him, as he has stayed behind the scenes.
Published estimates have put his personal fortune at around $150 million. His involvement in the family’s crypto ventures is cited as a factor in that figure. Locked cryptocurrency tokens tied to him carried a value of about $121 million at August 2026 prices, though they cannot yet be traded.
Donald Trump assessed his son’s skills in a March 2025 interview with Laura Ingraham. “He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology,” the president said. He also said: “I turn off his laptop, I said, ‘Oh good’ and I go back five minutes later, he’s got his laptop. I said, ‘How’d you do that?'”
A Quiet Romance and Low Profile
Reports have said Barron Trump has been dating a woman he met on the NYU campus for more than a year. He is keeping the relationship largely private, according to reporting on Sept. 27. Where the romance stands now is unclear, particularly after his campus switch. Donald Trump told the PBD Podcast in 2024 that he was not sure his son was at the dating stage yet.
First Lady Melania Trump, 56, wrote in her 2024 memoir, “Melania”: “Barron possesses a rare combination of intelligence, charm, and diligence.” His character and values, she added in the memoir, were things Barron held firm to through the upheaval of his father’s election and presidency.
The first lady said of her son’s role in the campaign: “He was very vocal, and he gave an advice to his father, and was incredible how he brought in a success because he knew exactly who his father needs to contact and to talk to.”
Schedules have cut into how often the family sees one another, the first lady said on Fox Business’ “The Big Money Show” on Sept. 23, adding that Barron is now a young man with plenty of his own to get on with. Her husband’s work, she noted, can keep him in the Oval Office late into the evening, while she keeps her own calendar full.
The public rarely catches sight of the 6-foot-7 student. MetLife Stadium hosted his last public appearance, at the FIFA World Cup final in New Jersey on July 19, where he joined Donald and Melania Trump.
