Lady Gaga Makes Big Announcement

Lady Gaga has announced she’s planning to marry Michael Polansky “soon,” revealing the news in a surprising moment that has fans excited about the long-anticipated wedding.

The 39-year-old music icon phoned into Bruno Mars’ iHeartRadio livestream “Romantic Radio” on Friday, March 6, 2026, asking him to dedicate a song to her and Polansky as they get ready to wed. Mars, 40, immediately recognized her voice and picked “Risk It All,” the opening track from his February 2026 album “The Romantic,” as a possible first-dance choice.

The marriage update arrives almost two years after Gaga confirmed her engagement to Polansky, a tech entrepreneur and Harvard alumnus, in July 2024. She first shared the news in a memorable moment at the Paris Olympics, introducing him as her “fiancé” while speaking with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.

The pair met in December 2019 at Sean Parker’s 40th birthday celebration in Los Angeles. They were photographed kissing at a New Year’s Eve event in Las Vegas and went public soon after the 2020 Super Bowl in Miami. During the COVID-19 lockdown they quarantined together at Gaga’s Malibu residence, where their relationship grew stronger.

Polansky popped the question during a rock climb on April Fools’ Day 2024, but he waited until they were back down for safety before presenting the ring, which he had kept secure in his backpack. In a typically considerate move, he asked for permission from others before making the proposal.

The engagement influenced one of the most intimate tracks on Gaga’s March 2025 album “MAYHEM”—an album on which Polansky served as co-executive producer and co-writer on multiple songs. The track “Blade of Grass” was inspired by a private backyard chat about how he might propose; Gaga told the BBC the story: “A long time ago, we were in the backyard, and he asked me, ‘If I ever proposed to you, like, how do I do that?’ And I just said, ‘Just get a blade of grass from the backyard and wrap it around my finger.'”

Regarding the wedding arrangements, Gaga has hinted she prefers something relatively small, while also saying anything could happen. She’s joked about a courthouse ceremony followed by Chinese food but also joked it might become “a circus with unicorns.”

In November 2025, Polansky discussed their plans in a Rolling Stone interview, saying they talk about marriage “all the time” and favor a private ceremony over a large production. Their Mayhem Ball tour is set to finish at Madison Square Garden in April 2026.

Their creative partnership goes beyond music. Gaga frequently praises Polansky as her closest friend and biggest supporter, saying he understands who she is beneath the pop persona. She won Artist of the Year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards and dedicated the honor to “my partner in all things, Michael.”

On her October 2025 appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Gaga, born Stefani Germanotta, shared that her next major role would be motherhood. Asked about upcoming endeavors, she replied plainly: “What I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.”

Reports indicated wedding planning and prenup talks were already in motion by August 2024, according to multiple outlets at the time. Now, with Gaga confirming the wedding will take place “soon,” fans are eager to see if it will be a low-key courthouse event with takeout or the unicorn-filled spectacle she joked about.

One thing is clear: whether the couple chooses Bruno Mars’ “Risk It All” or Gaga’s own “Blade of Grass,” the music at their wedding will carry deep meaning.
