Cass Lacelle, who appeared on Freeform’s “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise,” passed away on Feb. 11, 2026, after a battle with ovarian cancer. She was 34.

Her loved ones shared news of her passing on Instagram, confirming she had died following her fight with the illness.

Lacelle learned she had a rare type of ovarian cancer in May 2025. The diagnosis required emergency surgery to remove a tumor, followed by three chemotherapy rounds. She finished her initial treatment by late summer 2025.

The cancer later returned in a severe form. On Jan. 4, 2026, she updated followers, revealing the recurrence. “My cancer is back and this time around is aggressive; it has metastasized to my liver, stomach, abdominal lining, and omentum,” she wrote.

Her exact diagnosis was mucinous adenocarcinoma, a rare cancer type.

Lacelle’s condition worsened significantly in the months leading up to her death. She shared with her followers that she had not had a pain-free day since mid-November 2025. She was admitted to the hospital on Dec. 6, 2025, and remained there until her passing.

The Instagram post announcing her death was signed by Bianca Mora, Meg Chandler, Ella and Kylie Nicholls—members of her support circle during her illness.

“Cass leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured,” the message stated, reflecting the profound influence she had on those around her.

Lacelle became publicly known through her role on “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise,” which aired on Freeform in 2024. The 10-episode series followed residents navigating relationships and careers on the island.

The show highlighted life on Grand Cayman, the largest of the Cayman Islands, and featured cast members such as Chelsea Flynn, Aaron Bernardo, Julian Foster, TV personality and entrepreneur Elizabeth Chambers, and model/producer Selita Ebanks. Chambers is known for being the ex-wife of actor Armie Hammer.

After the news of her death was made public, her former castmates expressed their sorrow. Foster wrote a tribute in her honor, while Flynn and Bernardo also shared heartfelt messages. Their responses showed the strong relationships she built both on the show and beyond it.

The memorial message ended with a sentimental note addressed to Lacelle, referring to her as “Fireheart,” a name that captured her passion and resilient spirit.

Her death was announced five days after she passed, giving her inner circle time to grieve privately before sharing the news. Posting the announcement on her own Instagram account allowed followers who had supported her to learn of her passing in the space where she had openly documented her journey.

The reality TV community, especially those tied to Freeform, felt her loss deeply. While “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise” represented only one part of her story, her candidness about her cancer battle in her final months created another lasting legacy—one that underscored both the harsh realities of the disease and the value of strong support networks.

Her passing leaves behind family, friends, and a wide community of supporters who followed her from her reality TV debut to her final fight with cancer. Those who knew her say her influence extended well beyond television, touching people through her authenticity and willingness to share her most vulnerable moments.
