South Korean band Acoustic Collabo’s vocalist, Mo Su-jin, tragically passed away at the age of 27 on January 25, 2026. The news was officially announced by her agency, Panic Button, on January 28.

The agency confirmed her passing but did not reveal the cause of her death. “Mo Su-jin, the vocalist of Acoustic Collabo, passed away on the 25th,” the statement read. “Her bereaved family is in deep sorrow over this sudden and heartbreaking news.”

The family has requested privacy and asked the public to refrain from speculation and rumors regarding the details of her death. A private funeral attended only by family, relatives, and close friends was held, and the burial service was conducted at Eden Memorial Park in Namyangju at 10:30 a.m. on January 28, 2026.

Born in 1999, Mo Su-jin was initially an idol trainee before she joined Acoustic Collabo as their third vocalist. She later became the band’s lead vocalist, sharing duties with Kim Seung-jae.

The lineup of Acoustic Collabo included vocalists Ahn Da Eun, Kim Kyu Nyeon, and Mo Su-jin. The group’s third full-length album, “Good to Be with You,” prominently featured Mo’s vocal talent, honed throughout her training and early career.

In 2022, the band was embroiled in a legal dispute with its former management company. After partial resolution in 2024, the group won the case fully in the second trial on November 27, 2025.

Once the dispute was resolved, the group returned in 2025 and signed an exclusive contract with Panic Button. Apart from her work with the group, Mo pursued a solo career under the stage name “Cloudy,” releasing songs including “Flight,” “Fade Away,” “Be My Love,” and, in June 2025, “Your Universe.”

In the statement released following Mo’s death, the agency reiterated the family’s request for privacy, asking that specific details, including the cause of death, not be disclosed.

The announcement was covered by local newspapers ONSEN and Korea JoongAng Daily. The news spread rapidly through social media and entertainment industry platforms following Panic Button’s official statement.

The duo of Mo Su-jin and Kim Seung-jae as lead vocalists was instrumental in defining Acoustic Collabo’s distinctive sound.

Mo Su-jin’s route to Acoustic Collabo was less than traditional. Initially training as an idol, she faced challenges with dance but excelled vocally. Encouraged by her vocal teacher to focus on singing, she discovered Acoustic Collabo’s music.

Her path to joining the group started when she posted a cover of “It’s Strange, With You” on social media, not knowing that the group was holding auditions. The band’s officials noticed her video, and after an audition, she outshone nearly 1,600 other applicants to become Acoustic Collabo’s third-generation vocalist.

In the aftermath of her death, her Instagram account and YouTube videos were temporarily made private before being restored on January 29. A cat believed to be her pet also had its social media account set to private.
