Two men face murder charges after a planned fight during a work break at an Amazon fulfillment center in Far West Bexar County, Texas, escalated into a deadly shooting that left one worker dead and another injured.
Jamari McKillion, 21, and David Perez Morales Jr., 20, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Katrael Delosier, 26. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on January 11, 2026, in the parking lot of the Amazon Fulfillment Center located at U.S. Highway 90 West and Loop 1604.
Bexar County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at the scene to find two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities identified the victims as Delosier and Johnny Bermea III. Both men were transported to the hospital, where Delosier later died. Bermea survived and remained in stable condition.
The shooting stemmed from an argument earlier in the evening between an Amazon employee and Bermea. The two had agreed to fight during a scheduled work break to settle their dispute. However, unbeknownst to Bermea, the employee called friends to serve as backup.
According to investigators, the employee told authorities he had issues with Bermea since high school. Bermea had confronted the employee earlier about talking and challenged him to a fight. During this confrontation, Bermea claimed he had a firearm in his vehicle. The employee then led Bermea toward a vehicle in the parking lot during their break.
Witnesses told investigators that Morales exited the vehicle and opened fire on the victims before the suspects fled the scene. McKillion was driving the vehicle during the shooting. One witness reported seeing McKillion wearing a ski mask, while another observed Morales with a hood covering his face.
McKillion was detained on Monday, January 12, 2026, at his workplace, another Amazon warehouse in San Antonio located in the 6800 block of Cal Turner Drive. Investigators also seized his vehicle as evidence. Morales was detained at a residence in the 200 block of Mohawk Street on the same day.
Both McKillion and Morales are being held on bonds set at $300,000 each. First-degree murder charges in Texas carry severe penalties, including potential life imprisonment or death sentences, depending on the circumstances and whether prosecutors pursue capital murder charges.
The loss has devastated Delosier’s family. He leaves behind a wife and two young sons. Family members described him as a hardworking father who had recently completed college to become a mechanic. He was in the process of closing on a home to build a better life for his family at the time of his death.
Delosier’s family has retained Gamez Law Firm as the investigation continues. His brother emphasized the far-reaching consequences of violence, noting that it leaves scars beyond the immediate moment, destroying families, shattering communities, and changing lives forever.
Amazon responded to the tragedy by increasing security at the fulfillment center. The company released a statement addressing the incident.
“We’re heartbroken by the tragic loss of a valued member of our team and are keeping the victim’s family and loved ones in our thoughts,” the statement said. The company added that it is providing support to Delosier’s family and counseling support to employees. Amazon confirmed it is cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation.
