Vanna White is keeping the wheel spinning. In an interview with E! News published on Dec. 10, 2025, the longtime “Wheel of Fortune” co-host revealed she’s taking her future on the iconic game show one year at a time.

“At this point, I’m happy with my job, I’m continuing on Wheel, and we will take one year at a time and go from there,” White told the outlet. The 68-year-old letter-turner has been a fixture on the game show, maintaining her role through a major transition following Pat Sajak’s retirement announcement in June 2023.

White signed a two-year contract extension months after Sajak announced his departure, keeping her on the show through the 2025-2026 season. The 79-year-old Sajak exited the program in 2024. Ryan Seacrest, 50, stepped into the hosting role for season 42, which debuted in September 2024.

When Sajak first announced his retirement plans, White considered leaving alongside her longtime co-host. She previously acknowledged she thought about departing at the same time as her partner but wasn’t ready to retire. The pair had worked together for decades, creating one of television’s most enduring on-screen partnerships.

Despite the significant change in her working dynamic, White has embraced the new chapter with Seacrest. She praised the transition as flawless and noted that Seacrest brings great energy to the role. The familiarity has helped smooth what could have been a difficult adjustment period for both the show and its devoted audience.

Looking ahead, White remains open to whatever the future holds but isn’t planning to pursue other television opportunities. She explained that after spending so long on “Wheel of Fortune,” there isn’t anything else on TV she would rather do. When retirement eventually comes, she has a clear vision for how she’ll spend her time away from the studio lights.

“Honestly, I think I wanna just play golf when I retire,” White said. The sentiment reflects her desire for a quieter lifestyle after decades in the entertainment industry. She also acknowledged the unpredictability of life’s opportunities, noting that something might come along that she wants to be involved in, but for now, she’s taking things one day at a time.

White’s work schedule on the show is notably compact. The program films approximately six shows per day, allowing White significant time away from the studio. This efficient production schedule has been one factor enabling her long tenure on the program while maintaining a personal life outside of television.

Her relationship with Sajak remains strong despite his departure from the daily show. White revealed that the two still see each other and sometimes have dinner together. She emphasized that Sajak is still in her life and that they remain friends beyond their professional collaboration.

As for her current partnership with Seacrest, White called her job her home away from home and described the crew as one big happy family. She expressed that she’s still having a great time when she comes to work, a crucial factor in her decision to continue with the show. White noted that Seacrest approached the role with appropriate humility, acknowledging that he could never replace Sajak and pledging simply to do the best job he could.

The transition has proven successful for the long-running game show. White observed that viewers get to see the real Seacrest, as the format allows him more opportunities to talk and reveal his personality compared to other programs he’s hosted. This authenticity has helped him connect with the show’s loyal audience while bringing his own style to the host’s podium.

For now, White remains committed to her role turning letters and celebrating contestants’ victories. Her year-by-year approach gives her flexibility while ensuring that “Wheel of Fortune” maintains continuity with at least one of its beloved longtime hosts. Whether she continues beyond her current contract will depend on how she feels when that time arrives, but for the moment, the wheel keeps turning with White still at its side.
