Trump Humiliated After Embarrassing Speech

Representative Jasmine Crockett of Texas launched a scathing attack on President Donald Trump’s West Point commencement speech, calling for Republicans to question his mental fitness for office and comparing him to someone who had escaped from an insane asylum.

During an appearance on MSNBC on May 25, 2025, Crockett responded to clips from Trump’s speech to the 1,002 graduating cadets of the West Point Class of 2025 delivered on May 24. The Dallas Democrat expressed dismay at Trump’s rambling remarks that touched on topics ranging from trophy wives and yachts to drag shows and golf during what should have been a solemn military ceremony.

Crockett indicated that Trump sounds like someone who has broken out of an insane asylum, suggesting he should “get him some ADHD medicine” because she could not predict where his thoughts would lead. She argued that the West Point graduates did not expect their commander in chief to address them while discussing trophy wives or his numerous criminal investigations.

The congresswoman emphasized that such behavior demonstrates Trump’s unfitness to potentially command troops in warfare, stating that his speech failed to instill confidence. She called on Republicans to begin questioning Trump’s mental acuity and whether he is equipped to serve mentally, noting that while his criminality already disqualifies him from service, his mental state represents an additional deplorable concern.

During his West Point address, Trump made several bizarre comments that drew criticism. When discussing real estate developer Bill Levitt, Trump mused about trophy wives, stating that while they made Levitt happy for a while, such relationships typically do not work out well. He also questioned the effectiveness of stealth aircraft technology and railed against diversity initiatives in the military.

Trump told the graduating cadets that the job of the U.S. armed forces is not to host drag shows or transform foreign cultures, but to dominate any foe and annihilate any threat to America. He announced the elimination of critical race theory and transgender training from military programs, declaring that men would not be permitted to play in women’s sports. The president also compared himself favorably to notorious gangster Al Capone, claiming he had faced more investigations than the convicted criminal.

Breaking with tradition, Trump refused to remain at the ceremony to shake hands with the graduating West Point cadets. The speech marked his first military commencement address of his second presidential term and included announcements about a one trillion dollar military buildup.

Crockett has emerged as a prominent Democratic voice opposing Trump’s agenda since taking office in January 2023. The second-term congresswoman has gained national attention for her sharp criticisms and viral moments during congressional hearings. She previously drew controversy in March 2025 for referring to Texas Governor Greg Abbott as “Governor Hot Wheels,” allegedly mocking his wheelchair use. Crockett later stated the comment was about his policies, not his disability.

The ongoing feud between Crockett and Trump has intensified in recent months. Trump has labeled Crockett a “low IQ” person and mocked suggestions that she represents the future of the Democratic Party. On her social media accounts, Crockett has called Trump a “buffoon” and used abbreviated profanity to describe him.

Crockett is currently considering a bid for the ranking Democratic position on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which would significantly elevate her role in opposing Trump’s second-term agenda. The position became available after Representative Gerry Connolly of Virginia, who was battling esophageal cancer, died on May 21.

As vice ranking member of the oversight panel, Crockett has led Democratic efforts to investigate potential conflicts of interest in the Trump administration. She has questioned spending on Trump’s golf outings and potential insider trading by White House officials and congressional Republicans. Her team has compiled statistics showing she raised more than four million dollars for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and made 108 trips to support fellow Democrats.

The White House responded to Crockett’s criticism through principal deputy press secretary Harrison Fields, who stated that Crockett and her Democratic followers represent “all hammer and no nail.” The statement suggested that when she leads Democratic oversight efforts, it demonstrates the party’s deteriorating condition and recommended that her constituents consider replacing her in the next election.

Crockett’s criticism of Trump’s West Point speech reflects broader Democratic concerns about his fitness for office and mental acuity. Her calls for Republican intervention represent part of a sustained Democratic effort to challenge Trump’s leadership capabilities during his second presidential term. The controversy highlights ongoing tensions between the president and his congressional critics as political battles intensify in Washington.
