Trump Slams Taylor Swift AGAIN During White House Celebration

President Donald Trump criticized pop singer Taylor Swift on April 27, 2025, while welcoming the Philadelphia Eagles to the White House to mark their Super Bowl win. During his comments on the South Lawn, Trump mentioned Swift’s attendance at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she was present to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

“I was watching in person. I was there along with Taylor Swift, how did that work out? How did that one work out?” Trump said, eliciting laughter from those present at the event.

The Eagles triumphed over the Chiefs 40-22 in the February championship game, which drew extra attention due to Swift’s connection with Kelce. The singer was visibly booed when shown on the Caesars Superdome jumbotron during the game’s first quarter.

This was not the first instance of Trump’s commentary on Swift’s reception at the Super Bowl. Following the game in February, Trump shared on his Truth Social platform that Swift “got BOOED out of the Stadium” and that “MAGA is very unforgiving!”

Trump made history as the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl, receiving mixed reactions from attendees. Some videos captured cheers for the president, while others recorded boos. The reaction was divided, showcasing a split between his supporters and critics.

Swift’s relationship with the Eagles is complex. Before dating Kelce, she identified as an Eagles fan during an Eras Tour concert at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Swift, who is from Pennsylvania, informed concertgoers that the “Eagles T-shirt” in her song “Gold Rush” referred to the NFL team, not the band.

“Guys, like, c’mon. I’m from Philly. Of course, it is the team,” Swift told fans at the Philadelphia venue.

Swift’s father, Scott, is publicly known as an Eagles fan. However, since she began dating Kelce, the singer seems to have shifted her support to the Chiefs, frequently attending their games throughout the 2024-2025 season.

Trump’s remarks come as he works to arrange a White House visit for the 2020 Kansas City Chiefs team, who won Super Bowl LIV but could not make the traditional championship visit due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If this visit occurs, it may result in a meeting between Trump and Kelce.

During Super Bowl week in February, when it was announced that Trump would attend the game, Kelce made diplomatic comments about the president’s presence. He told reporters that having the president attend was “awesome” and “a great honor… no matter who the President is.”

The relationship between Trump and Swift has been contentious. During the 2024 presidential campaign, Swift endorsed Trump’s opponent, Kamala Harris. In response, Trump criticized Swift on social media and in television interviews, suggesting she would “probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

Despite the controversy surrounding his comments about Swift, Trump maintained a largely positive tone during the Eagles celebration on Monday. He commended the team’s Super Bowl performance, particularly highlighting running back Saquon Barkley’s contributions.

Several key Eagles players, including quarterback Jalen Hurts, did not attend the White House celebration. The White House cited “scheduling conflicts” as the reason for their absence, though no additional details were provided.

The Eagles’ decisive victory over the Chiefs followed a season of strong performances. The Super Bowl was played on a field Trump criticized as “frozen” and “stiff” due to changes in the playing surface.

The Eagles’ visit to the White House continues the tradition of championship sports teams being honored by the president. However, this practice has become increasingly politicized in recent years, with some teams and individual players opting out of the ceremonial event.
