Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff, known for her acting career and being the former spouse of “Baywatch” actor David Hasselhoff, was discovered deceased in her residence in Hollywood Hills, California, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. She was 62.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office stated that Bach-Hasselhoff’s death was a suicide, resulting from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. There was no suicide note found at the location of her death.
Reports indicate that family members went to check on her after not hearing from Bach-Hasselhoff for several days. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that they were summoned to the scene around 10 p.m. that Wednesday.
David Hasselhoff, Bach-Hasselhoff’s ex-husband, expressed his family’s grief in a statement. “Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” said Hasselhoff, 72. “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time, but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”
A neighbor, Hiromi Osiecki, shared that one of Bach-Hasselhoff’s daughters, believed to be Hayley Hasselhoff, 32, found her mother’s body and was reportedly distraught, screaming, and crying in the street afterward.
Bach-Hasselhoff, born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, embarked on her acting career in the 1970s. Her first significant role was in Francis Ford Coppola’s film “Rumble Fish.” During her career, she made appearances in numerous television series, including “The Young and the Restless,” “Cheers,” “The Fall Guy,” “T.J. Hooker,” “Superboy,” and “Viper.”
She is perhaps most remembered for her role as Kaye Morgan on “Baywatch,” where she appeared in 14 episodes spanning a decade. She also played several other characters on the popular lifeguard drama series.
She met David Hasselhoff on the set of his series “Knight Rider” in 1985. They married in December 1989, following Hasselhoff’s divorce from his first wife, Catherine Hickland. During their 17-year marriage, they had two daughters, Taylor Ann, now 34, and Hayley Amber, 32.
Their divorce in 2006 was fraught with tension, with Bach-Hasselhoff accusing Hasselhoff of domestic abuse, allegations he denied. Disputes over spousal support payments continued until 2017. After the divorce, they each were awarded custody of one of their daughters.
Sharon Kelly, Bach-Hasselhoff’s agent, remembered her client warmly, describing her as a “force of nature” and a dedicated mother to her two daughters. Kelly expressed her shock at Bach-Hasselhoff’s passing and offered her condolences to her family.
Bach-Hasselhoff’s last social media post on New Year’s Eve 2024 reflected her joy in her family, especially her granddaughter London, born in August 2024 to her daughter Taylor and son-in-law Madison Fiore.
In the wake of her death, fans expressed their condolences on social media. Her daughter Hayley paid tribute to her mother by reposting a picture of her parents from 1996 on her Instagram Stories.
Post-divorce, Bach-Hasselhoff maintained an active social media presence, frequently sharing posts about her daughters and granddaughter. Despite the contentious divorce, she continued to use the Hasselhoff surname professionally.
Beyond her acting career, Bach-Hasselhoff appeared on the UK reality show “Celebrity Big Brother” in 2011. David Hasselhoff remarried in 2018 to model Hayley Roberts, while Bach-Hasselhoff remained single.
Their daughters, Taylor and Hayley, have both forged their own careers, with Hayley working as a model and Taylor involved in various entrepreneurial ventures.
Bach-Hasselhoff’s acting career spanned over five decades, beginning with her first role as a child actor in 1973. She portrayed various characters throughout her career, with her roles on “Baywatch” and “Knight Rider” being her most recognized work.
She is survived by her two daughters, Taylor and Hayley, and her granddaughter, London.
