On Saturday, December 14, a residence in Columbus, Ohio became a crime scene after the bodies of three women were discovered, prompting a complex homicide investigation. Local authorities are currently working meticulously to uncover the details of the tragic incident.
The three deceased women have been identified as Sierra Muse, 34, Dawn Clover, 49, and Tiffany Parrish, 36. The bodies were discovered by De’Andre Herndon, who had visited the property located on the 1300 block of South Ohio Avenue to check on a friend. This residence was the home of Darrell Hambrick‘s wife, who tragically, had lost her husband to a fatal gunshot wound just four days prior.
James Fuqua, a Sergeant with the Columbus Police, told reporters, “Unfortunately, this is a very complex scene with the amount of victims that we have. It’s going to take a little bit longer to make sure that we’re very careful in going through the scene meticulously so we do not miss any key piece of evidence.”
Police arrived at the crime scene shortly before 4 p.m., where they found one woman with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Two more female victims were discovered as the investigation progressed, both also shot dead. All three women were declared deceased at the scene.
The Columbus Division of Police has assured the community that these murders are not the work of a serial killer. They are currently investigating potential ties between this case and another recent homicide that took place on December 10 on East Moler Street, where a man was shot dead. One suspect has been apprehended in relation to the East Moler Street case, but authorities believe that additional culprits may be involved in both incidents.
As of Saturday evening, no suspects were in custody in relation to the triple homicide. Police are actively conducting witness interviews and searching for video proofs. They have also called on the public to contribute any cell phone or surveillance footage that could benefit the investigation.
The investigation has unveiled potential connections to drug-related activities. Herndon disclosed that the crime scene was known as a “trap house,” a term that refers to a location frequented by drug users. Interestingly, Herndon had visited the house to check on Hambrick’s wife, but she was not among the victims, as she was in a hospital for cancer treatment at the time.
An official report from the police labels the shooting as “drug-related.”
The Columbus Police Department is diligently working on the cases, seeking to establish any links between the December 10 homicide and the recent triple homicide. Their primary focus is on identifying any additional suspects that may be involved in either of the two incidents.
