A woman, aged 26, from Siedlce, Poland, tragically lost her life during her honeymoon in Miami Beach, Florida. The cause of death has been determined by investigators to be exposure to psychoactive substances.
Aleksandra Leczycka and her spouse Dawid Leczycki were discovered unconscious on a Miami street in August 2022, a mere 23 days after their wedding. Dawid was able to survive the incident, but Aleksandra didn’t pull through.
The perplexing case took two years to resolve, with the District Prosecutor’s Office in Siedlce, Poland revealing their findings on October 23, 2024. District Prosecutor Krystyna Golabek stated, “By a decision dated 23rd October 2024, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Siedlce discontinued the investigation into the case of Aleksandra L., whose death occurred on 29th August 2022 in Miami Beach, USA.”
Initially, the incident was suspected to be a robbery, as the couple was discovered without any cash or jewelry. However, a thorough investigation, which involved working with American authorities and expert assessments in computer science and toxicology, painted a different picture.
The couple, investigators determined, had consumed psychoactive substances willingly. Leczycka’s death was attributed to either a severe allergic reaction or an overdose from these substances. Though the investigators did not entirely discard the possibility of involuntary drugging, they found no evidence to support this theory.
Prior to the incident, Leczycka had posted pictures of herself at a Miami beach. The couple had tied the knot on August 6, 2022, and had chosen Miami as their honeymoon destination.
Prosecutor Golabek highlighted that the investigation involved exhaustive measures, such as seeking legal assistance from American authorities and garnering expert opinions from various domains. These findings contradicted the initial assumptions of robbery made by the police.
Dawid Leczycki has remained silent about the incident since it happened.
The conclusion of the investigation arrived after two years of meticulous examination of the evidence collected from both Poland and Miami Beach. This included materials provided by American investigators and expert analysis of digital and toxicological evidence.
