Internet on Fire About Trump’s New Hairstyle

President-elect Donald Trump recently drew attention by revealing a new hairstyle at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The change marked a departure from his iconic, voluminous, orange-tinged style.

At 78, the president-elect’s hair has been restyled into a noticeably flatter manner, a distinct change from his typical look. The new style was caught on camera by Michael Solakiewicz, a pro-Trump influencer.

While interacting with supporters in Florida, Trump, wearing a branded polo shirt and his new hairstyle was recorded asking the crowd, “Is everybody having a good time?” He followed up, jovially, with “Is everybody a Republican?”

Some observers have compared Trump’s new hairstyle to that of his youngest son, Barron Trump, who recently started his college life at New York University in New York City. Barron, who turned 18 in March 2024, has consistently sported a neat, classic hairstyle during his teenage years.

In the past, Trump has made occasional changes to his signature style. For instance, in 2019, he was seen with slicked-back hair during a visit to a church in Virginia. According to his former stylist, Trump takes care of his own hair, with family members reportedly assisting with cutting and coloring instead of professional hairdressers.

Over the years, Trump has staunchly defended the authenticity of his hair. In a 2013 social media post, he wrote, “As everybody knows, but the haters and losers refuse to acknowledge, I do not wear a ‘wig.’ My hair may not be perfect but it’s mine.”

Attention to hair seems to be a Trump family tradition. Donald’s father, Fred Christ Trump, was known to dye his hair red with hints of magenta in his later years and wore it longer than was common for men in the 1940s, as detailed in Gwenda Blair’s book about the family.

The new hairstyle has elicited various reactions on social media. Some compared Trump to “an angry grandpa at a country club,” while others expressed admiration and indicated they would request the “Trump 2025 look” at their next hair appointment.

While some comments were critical of his new look, others compared him to other political figures. “I Like it! Trump is always willing to try new things!” wrote one supporter.

Others offered practical reasons for the change. “People, he just played a round of golf with a hat on. Hats do that to hair. Not a new look. Guaranteed,” one person explained. “The ultimate hat hair,” concurred another.

Trump’s distinctive hairstyle has been a subject of public interest throughout his career, from his early days in real estate to his presidency. In a 2011 Rolling Stone interview, he addressed accusations of wearing a combover, insisting that he had styled his hair in the same way for years.
