Percy Forrest, a notable personality in the Bronx, New York City hip-hop community and long-serving manager tied to Fat Joe’s Terror Squad, met a tragic end in a nightclub stabbing in Queens, New York City. He was 55.

The fatal event occurred at around 2:20 a.m. on November 11, 2024, at the Agenda Restaurant and Lounge located in Astoria, Queens. Forrest was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital after severe chest injuries but was pronounced dead by the medical staff.

Despite an early arrest following initial investigations, the individual was subsequently released. Further information regarding potential suspects has been withheld by the New York Police Department.

Forrest gained recognition in the music world through his enduring friendship with Fat Joe, which started during their years in kindergarten. Family members relayed a memory from Forrest, “I was the baddest black guy in the school, Joe was the baddest Puerto Rican in the school, and we would always meet each other in the principal’s office. One day we was looking at each other and was like, ‘Wassup, wassup’, and we started laughing and became best friends.”

Denise Forrest, the victim’s 33-year-old daughter, underscored her father’s extensive connections in the music industry, asserting his widespread recognition and deep friendship with Fat Joe.

Prior to his management career, Forrest was part of a four-member dance group named Up Town’s Hottest. Post-performance career, he managed an R&B group and ran a ticket resale enterprise. Later, Fat Joe invited him to join Terror Squad, a hip-hop group active from 1998 to 2006, provided he refrained from street activities.

Yulonda Paul, Forrest’s widow, reminisced about their first encounter at a roller skating rink three decades ago. Before his untimely death, the couple was prepping for her 50th birthday celebration.

In addition to music management, Forrest ran a talent agency and worked as a celebrity concierge, arranging exclusive restaurant bookings and event entries.

Forrest’s life was not without legal complications. He spent 18 months at Rikers Island until charges in a 2011 Harlem murder case were dropped. He also served three and a half years for a 1995 assault conviction in Manhattan. Fat Joe highly regarded Forrest’s capacity to pardon those who didn’t support him during these times.

On the night of Forrest’s death, he was at the Agenda Lounge, a place he was familiar with. According to Denise, his daughter, “I cannot even fathom what occurred. I just wish it was a night that he did not go. I heard it was really really crowded that night.”
