Melania Trump, the former First Lady, is set to release her debut memoir, “Melania,” in the fall season. Skyhorse Publishing, the publisher, describes the book as a gripping and inspiring narrative of Melania’s unique journey, filled with triumphs over obstacles and personal victories.
Since leaving the White House with her husband, former President Donald Trump, Melania Trump has maintained a low profile, making her memoir a rare insight into her life. The book is said to offer an in-depth view into the life of Melania, a figure often regarded as mysterious, and includes personal anecdotes and previously unseen family photographs.
The memoir is scheduled for release on September 24, 2024, weeks before the presidential election, and will be available in two versions. The signed “Collector’s Edition,” a 256-page, full-color book, is priced at $150. The “Memoir Edition,” which includes 48 pages of never-before-seen photographs within its 304 pages, will retail for $40, with signed copies available for $75. Both editions can be pre-ordered directly from Melania Trump’s website.
The controversial Skyhorse Publishing, known for its politically charged publications, will handle the memoir’s distribution. The publisher has a history of working with Trump supporters like lawyer Alan Dershowitz and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, as well as publishing works by Michael Cohen, a former Trump insider turned critic, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The spokesperson for Melania Trump’s office did not provide further details about the book, including financial arrangements, promotional strategies, or the potential involvement of a co-author.
Melania, originally from Slovenia, moved to the United States in 1996 to pursue a modeling career. She met Donald Trump in 1998 and they married in 2005, with their son Barron Trump being born a year later.
Throughout her husband’s presidency, Melania Trump focused her efforts on raising their son and promoting her “Be Best” initiative, aimed at children’s social, emotional, and physical well-being. She has chosen to stay away from her husband’s current presidential campaign, a departure from the usual involvement of candidates’ spouses.
On the rare occasion, Melania Trump made public appearances at her husband’s 2024 campaign launch event and the closing night of the Republican National Convention. However, she deviated from her previous engagements in 2016 and 2020 by not delivering a speech at the convention.
Contrary to other former presidents and first ladies, Donald and Melania Trump have not relied on mainstream New York publishers for their post-presidential books. Since leaving office, Donald Trump has published a picture book celebrating his time in the White House and a collection of letters from global leaders and celebrities through Winning Team Publishing, co-founded by Donald Trump Jr. and former Trump campaign staffer Sergio Gor.
Tony Lyons, President of Skyhorse Publishing, characterized the book as “a diligent and historically important record of the turbulent recent past of our country, seen from Melania Trump’s unique vantage point.” He further stated, “It conveys her core beliefs of unity, hope, and kindness, and whatever you thought you knew about this intensely private woman, these pages contain something more — and something deeper.”
The memoir “Melania,” promises to be a major release this fall, delivering an unprecedented glimpse into the life of one of the most private personalities in recent American politics.
