The global fan base and the New York community are mourning, following the distressing death of Eva Evans, a 29-year-old TikTok personality.

Evans, recognized for her lively portrayal of the urban lifestyle and for original TikTok content, was discovered lifeless in her Manhattan, New York apartment last weekend, leaving an indelible mark on her followers and the online world.

On the night of April 20, 2024, a friend who hadn’t seen Evans since the previous morning entered her apartment using a key, only to find a devastating situation. Law enforcement sources indicate that Evans was found deceased hanging, with no signs of a struggle or unusual injuries observed at the scene. The incident appeared to be a suicide.

Upon discovery, the friend promptly called the police and paramedics. Evans was declared dead at the scene. The abrupt nature of the incident left those close to her in shock, as the friend reported to the police no known signs of depression or emotional distress in Evans, making the tragic event all the more perplexing.

A note was discovered near the place where Evans was found. The contents of the note left by Evans have not been revealed. The investigation is pending toxicology results to officially determine the cause of death.

Evans was a prolific content creator, most notably for her web series ‘Club Rat’ on Amazon Prime Video, which delved into the complexities of the contemporary dating scene in New York City. She had amassed over 300,000 followers on TikTok, where she regularly posted clips of her day-to-day life and personal observations.

Her sister, Lila Joy Baumgardner, shared her deep sorrow on social media, emphasizing the abrupt and profound loss the family has experienced. “Even after 24 hours have passed, I’m still struggling with a constant cycle of disbelief and acknowledgment,” Baumgardner stated, underlining the ongoing difficulties of coming to terms with her sister’s sudden passing.

Condolences have been publicly expressed by friends and celebrities alike. Actress Julia Fox, known for her role in “Uncut Gems,” referred to Evans as a “New York icon” in a TikTok video. Speaking of her sense of loss, Fox described Evans as someone she viewed as a younger sister who looked up to her. Reflecting on Evans’ untimely demise, Fox emphasized her youth and the potential she had yet to realize. Similarly, Lo Bosworth, a former cast member of “The Hills,” left a heartfelt comment on Evans’ last social media post, bidding farewell to the “angel Eva” and acknowledging her kindness, which stood out amidst some indifference from others.

Despite not publicly discussing if she had her own mental struggles, Evans had participated in mental health advocacy. She had previously shared the painful story of her father’s suicide in 2018 through the organization ‘Don’t Mind Me’, underscoring her personal commitment to mental health awareness.

A celebration of life was arranged in lower Manhattan, where family, friends, and fans assembled to honor her memory and bid their farewells.

Eva Evans’ death was announced nearly a week after the passing of Kyle Marisa Roth, another well-known TikTok influencer famed for her videos about Hollywood gossip.
