Noted TV actress Robyn Bernard, best known for her significant role in the popular soap opera “General Hospital,” was discovered dead in San Jacinto, California on March 12. She was 64 years old.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Bernard’s body was located in a field behind a business during the early hours of the day.

The cause of death is yet to be determined as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding Bernard’s passing.

Bernard’s most renowned work in acting came to light during the 1980s and early 1990s, particularly her role as Terry Brock on “General Hospital” from 1984 to 1990. Her portrayal of a musician struggling with alcoholism in 145 episodes over six years deeply resonated with the audience.

Apart from “General Hospital,” Bernard showcased her talent in various films and TV shows. She made her on-screen debut in the 1981 film “Diva,” and later featured in the Oscar-nominated French film “Betty Blue” in 1986. She also guest-starred in several TV series such as “Simon & Simon,” “Whiz Kids,” “The Facts of Life,” and “Tour of Duty.” Following her stint on “General Hospital,” Bernard appeared in the French miniseries “Maigret” and the film “Kings for a Day.” Her final credited role was in the 2002 film “Voices from the High School.”

Bernard, born on May 26, 1959, in Gladewater, Texas, grew up in a preacher’s family. Her sister Crystal later gained fame on the 1990s TV show “Wings.” Though Bernard initially attended Baylor University, she left to follow her artistic aspirations which eventually led her to Hollywood.

Bernard is remembered not only for her impactful roles in the entertainment industry but also for her personal journey marked by resilience and dedication. The integration of her gospel singer background into her “General Hospital” character’s storyline was something she often reflected on positively during interviews.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department continues their investigation into Bernard’s death, with an autopsy pending. While the initial investigation showed no signs of foul play, the exact circumstances leading to her presence in the field and the cause of her death are still under examination.

Bernard is survived by her father, Jerry Wayne Bernard, and her two sisters, Scarlett and Crystal.
