Following a search warrant obtained by the police, the body of a 39-year-old newlywed woman was discovered in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 28. The deceased was found hidden under a pile of clothes in the rear of her damaged, abandoned car.

The Tulsa Police Department verified the unfortunate incident, drawing to a close the urgent search for Cassidy Ritchie, who had been reported missing since January 20.

Ritchie, who had recently tied the knot with Chris Morland on January 7, was officially listed as missing and endangered by Tulsa Police on January 25. The search efforts involved the local community, her children, and volunteers. Ritchie’s car was discovered near Highway 412 between Catoosa and Inola, close to the “I Don’t Care Bar and Grill,” with her body inside, marking a tragic end to the search.

The car exhibited signs of considerable off-road damage, suggesting a rough journey prior to its abandonment.

Chris Morland, Ritchie’s spouse, is presently considered a person of interest in the case. Morland, who has unrelated outstanding warrants in Texas, is being detained and was initially questioned regarding his wife’s disappearance while in jail on January 25. His criminal record includes charges of domestic violence and larceny. Morland is currently in custody without bond as a justice fugitive.

Joey David, Ritchie’s elder son, confirmed her death on social media, articulating the family’s sorrow and requesting privacy during this challenging time. He expressed gratitude to all those who aided in the search for Ritchie and asked for continued support and prayers.

The authorities are focusing on the period between January 21 and 23, which coincides with Morland’s solo return to the couple’s residence in Tulsa. Reports suggest that the couple’s relationship was beset with difficulties, including a previous instance of domestic violence.

Following the discovery of Ritchie’s body, the police have reclassified the case as a homicide.

The Tulsa Police Department is urging anyone with relevant information to step forward and contact Tulsa Crime Stoppers.
