Three men were discovered deceased in a basement of a house on Putnam Avenue near Seneca Avenue, in Queens, New York on February 8, 2024. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) was alerted to the situation after a 911 call was placed by the sibling of one of the victims just before 7 a.m.

The NYPD began an immediate investigation into the tragic event. The victims included 38- and 39-year-old males whose identities are yet to be disclosed, along with one other man whose identity and age remain confidential until family members have been informed.

When found in the basement, the victims were unconscious and unresponsive. The Emergency Medical Services declared them deceased right at the scene. Although the NYPD has not found any initial indications of foul play, the investigation is still ongoing.

A source in law enforcement suggested that drug overdoses could possibly be the cause of death, but this theory is under investigation. The final determination is pending the findings of the city’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, which has taken over the case.

The incident has stirred the quiet Ridgewood neighborhood, renowned for its tranquil residential atmosphere and local businesses. Detectives from the NYPD’s 104th Precinct are actively collecting information and appealing to the public for any information related to the case.

As the investigation continues, the local community seeks clarity and closure. The hope is for answers that will shed light on the mysterious circumstances and provide some solace to the bereaved families affected by this unexpected incident.
