A deadly shooting occurred at Addington Place, a senior living community in St. Petersburg, Florida, on the morning of Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, Thomas Dowler, 81, fatally shot his 76-year-old wife, Susan Dowler, and then took his own life.
An employee discovered the couple with gunshot wounds during a regular morning check-in around 10 a.m. The police were alerted to the situation at 10:06 a.m. shortly after the discovery.
Initial investigations by the St. Petersburg Police Department indicate that Thomas Dowler had arrived at the facility to see his wife just after 9 a.m.
The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances leading up to the shooting and have yet to release additional details.
