Dallas, Texas was the scene of two significant traffic incidents over the weekend of January 13th-14th, 2024. These accidents resulted in three fatalities and three injuries according to reports from the local media.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has revealed that in both incidents, drivers were hit by other vehicles after they had left their cars due to previous accidents.

The first accident occurred at about 2:06 a.m. on January 13 on the Dallas North Tollway near Forest Lane.

24-year-old Kendrella Baldwin from Dallas was driving a 2017 Infinity QX50 when she collided with a 2013 Honda Civic, driven by 28-year-old Nathan Hattox from Addison.

Both drivers exited their vehicles after the collision. While standing on the road, they were hit by a third vehicle, a 2022 BMW 330 driven by 18-year-old Connor Marek Ehinger of Lewisville. Baldwin and Hattox were subsequently pronounced dead at the Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Ehinger, however, was unharmed.

The second accident happened at about 1:13 a.m. on January 14 on the President George Bush Turnpike near Belt Line Road.

19-year-old Jasmine Lewis from Arlington was driving a 2004 Honda Accord when she was involved in a single-vehicle crash. She exited her vehicle and was subsequently struck by a 2014 BMW X3. Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The BMW was driven by 28-year-old Kiara Frazier from Grand Prairie. The vehicle also held 33-year-old passenger Devvyn Eddington from Longview. Another passenger, 18-year-old King Martin from Grand Prairie, was in Lewis’ car. All three sustained minor injuries.

Initial investigations show that in both cases, the victims were hit by a third vehicle after they had left their own vehicles following the initial accidents. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing, and no further information is currently available.
