Actor Camden Toy, famed for his supernatural roles in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel,” passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023 at the age of 68.
Toy’s death was confirmed on his official Facebook page, noting his struggle with pancreatic cancer for two years.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Toy started his acting career in New York City before relocating to Los Angeles. His performances in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” showcased his talent for playing ominous characters, including the Gentleman, the demon Gnarl, and a Turok-Han vampire.
His work in “Angel” as The Prince of Lies in the fifth season further cemented his legacy in the horror and fantasy genres. Toy’s extensive career also included roles in “Goodnight Burbank,” “The Bay,” and his final film, “Average Joe” (2019).
His partner, Bethany Henderson, shared the timeline of his cancer battle on Facebook, revealing a diagnosis made in February of the previous year following persistent pain. Toy’s condition worsened over the final months.
