An 81-year-old man was arrested following a violent altercation that left his daughter seriously wounded.
In Nashville, Tennessee, an 81-year-old man, Floyd Allen Seay, was apprehended after a violent incident that resulted in serious injuries to his daughter. The event took place outside their residence.
Metro Nashville Police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 3000 block of Louise Drive on Monday afternoon, November 27, 2023, around 1:30 p.m. Officers found Seay’s daughter with multiple stab wounds to her chest, lower neck, and cheek. She was urgently transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of her severe injuries.
The altercation, initially verbal, escalated when Seay forcefully grabbed his daughter’s head, pulled her to the ground, and repeatedly struck her face. The situation further deteriorated when Seay entered the house, retrieved a kitchen knife, and continued his assault, stabbing his daughter multiple times.
After the attack, Seay handed the knife to a neighbor, startlingly confessing his intent to kill his daughter. During the police investigation, Seay admitted to deliberately using the knife, though he was uncertain about why he chose to do so. Alarmingly, he indicated a readiness to repeat his actions under similar circumstances.
The incident has highlighted a disturbing history of domestic disturbances at this address, with over 50 calls made in the past year, including 24 related to domestic issues.
Seay is being held in Metro Jail with a bond set at $500,000.
