Tragic End for Young Cheerleader Coach

Police discovered a 24-year-old mother of three and esteemed cheerleading coach from Jasper, Texas, dead over the weekend.

On Saturday, November 18, 2023, in the early morning hours, Rosalin “RoRo” Lewis‘ body was found at her home in the Myrtis Village apartments in Jasper.

Lewis, also known fondly as “Coach Ro”, acclaimed for her passion for cheerleading and her influence on young athletes, was a victim of a fatal beating.

After an investigation, the Jasper Police Department apprehended 23-year-old William Christian Thomas from Livingston. Thomas, in a relationship with Lewis, has been accused of her murder and is confined in Jasper County Jail, his bond set at $1 million.

This violent incident, reportedly involving a hammer, has deepened the grief and disbelief within the community. Lewis, known for her energetic spirit and commitment to her coaching role, leaves behind her three children, Kaelum, 5, Aria, 3, and Alakai 2.

The funeral service was held on November 25 at Faith Temple Church, Pollard Street, Jasper, directed by Coleman’s Mortuary.

The Jasper community, amidst its mourning, has rallied together, calling for support and prayers for the family grieving the loss.

As of now, the Jasper Police Department has not provided additional information about the investigation into Lewis’s death.
