On November 17, 2023, Carrollton Police in Texas responded to a violent domestic incident in which a woman reportedly stabbed her spouse and then drove a car containing her three children into a nearby lake.
Carrollton Police detailed the arrest of Wei Fen Ong. She had allegedly stabbed her husband at their home on Tall Knight Lane. The injured husband, whose identity remains undisclosed, received medical care at a local hospital with expectations of recovery.
Lewisville Police, from a neighboring town, were alerted by a 911 call about Ong driving into a lake with her children, ages eight, nine, and 12. The incident occurred near the 900 block of Hebron Parkway in Lewisville, prompting a swift rescue response.
The rescue team, comprising police and fire rescue units, successfully extracted the children from the submerged vehicle. One child was in critical condition; the other two were assessed as stable. Investigations are ongoing to determine the events leading to the car’s submersion.
Following hospital treatment, Ong was detained and is currently held at the Denton County Detention Facility. She faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, with the possibility of additional charges as the investigation progresses.
Eyewitnesses and police reports revealed that the eldest child escaped the vehicle on his own, while an officer saved another child, who was unconscious, and administered CPR. Firefighters rescued the third child.
