Kianna Aiesha Renee Davis, a 32-year-old high school teacher from Norcross, Georgia, was apprehended in connection with the death of her two-year-old child that occurred in 2020. She faces several serious charges, including malice murder, felony murder, cruelty to children, aggravated assault, and neglecting to provide medical care.

This incident took place from November 15 to 17, 2020, in Houston County, Georgia. Kianna Davis and Kiyon Devoy Benton, who is also charged, were indicted on October 17, 2023. The reasons behind the delay in Davis’s arrest remain unexplained.

According to the allegations in the court documents, Davis and Benton caused severe injuries to Karter Ambrose, the child, using an unknown object. These injuries affected vital organs, including the liver, pancreas, intestines, and kidneys. The charges highlight their failure to seek timely medical help, which significantly worsened the toddler’s condition.

Davis’s bond was set at $15,000 by a Houston County judge, under the conditions of no contact with Benton and house arrest at her grandfather’s house. Benton, described as a friend but not the biological father of Karter, is yet to be arrested, as per the District Attorney’s office.

Davis, employed at Seckinger High School in Gwinnett County, had been absent from her job for around two weeks prior to her arrest, confirmed by the school’s principal.
