Rock Legend Confronts Lawsuits over Past Relationships

Steven Tyler, 75, the iconic frontman of Aerosmith, recently found himself embroiled in two separate lawsuits concerning past relationships.

Jeanne Bellino has accused Tyler of assaulting her on two occasions in New York City in 1975 when she was 17 years old, and he was around 27. Bellino claims the encounters started with an unwanted advance in a telephone booth that later escalated to a second incident at a hotel, causing her significant emotional trauma requiring hospitalization.

A separate suit has also been filed under a 2019 California law by Julia Misley, previously known as Julia Holcomb. Misley asserts that after a concert when she was 16, Tyler engaged in criminal sexual conduct. She further alleges Tyler assumed legal guardianship over her to allow tour travel and coerced an abortion, as well as published private details of their relationship without permission in his memoirs.

While Tyler and his representation have yet to formally address these disturbing charges from his early career as a rising musician, both lawsuits seek damages related to lasting emotional and physical impacts. As the #MeToo movement has shone light on misconduct within the entertainment industry, Tyler now faces reckoning over past relationships called into question by his own recollections and new allegations surfacing after long periods of time. Only through the legal process will the facts around these claims be resolved.
