Upon returning from an errand, Perry’s assistant made the grim discovery of the actor submerged in the water. Desperate attempts at CPR were unsuccessful in reviving Perry.

Paramedics rushed to the actor’s home but were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has performed an autopsy, but the cause of death is pending toxicology report findings.

The LAPD has addressed speculation surrounding the death of the esteemed actor, confirming that there is no suspicion of foul play. Although illegal drugs were not found at Perry’s residence, prescription medications that were present are being considered in the ongoing investigation.

Known for his long-standing role as Chandler Bing on “Friends,” Perry had publicly shared his struggle with addiction to substances like opioids and alcohol, including the financial burdens of his recovery efforts.

Only five days prior to his passing, Perry had posted an image on Instagram, depicting a carefree moment in a pool, unaware of the tragic events to follow.

The circumstances of Perry’s death have sparked dialogue regarding the safety of hot tub use. Hot tubs can be particularly risky when combined with the use of alcohol or certain medications, or when medical conditions like hot tub syncope are a factor.

Matthew Perry leaves behind a legacy filled with memorable performances that cemented his place in entertainment history, resonating with fans across generations.
