Jamie Foxx, an Oscar-winning actor, is currently involved in a lawsuit concerning allegations of sexual assault from August 2015.
The accuser, referred to as Jane Doe, has charged Foxx with engaging in unwelcome and non-consensual physical behavior at Catch NYC, a rooftop bar and restaurant in Manhattan, New York. The legal complaint, submitted on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, asserts that an inebriated Foxx coerced the woman to a remote part of the rooftop, where he allegedly groped her and made unwanted advances.
The plaintiff’s lawsuit details that Foxx touched her breasts beneath her clothes and made inappropriate comments. Furthermore, the suit claims Foxx touched her private areas without consent. A security guard reportedly witnessed the episode but did not intervene.
Additionally, the plaintiff has included Catch Hospitality Group and other associated entities in her lawsuit.
This legal action utilizes New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which permits the filing of sexual abuse claims beyond the traditional statute of limitations, offering a means for adult victims of sexual assault to pursue justice.
