A family in Trussville, Alabama, faced a heartbreaking discovery on the morning of November 13, 2023, when their five-year-old daughter was found unresponsive in a laundry hamper at their residence.

The local police department, along with other authorities, is currently investigating the case, treating it as an accidental death.

The incident took place in Trussville’s Hawk Ridge neighborhood around 6:30 a.m. The child, Khloe Teresa Williamson, was found by her family and immediately transported to St. Vincent’s East Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, by the Trussville Fire and Rescue team. She was pronounced dead at the hospital at 7:17 a.m.

Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates and Trussville Police Chief Eric Rush have indicated that preliminary autopsy results showed no evidence of trauma or foul play. The investigation continues, with further laboratory and toxicology studies pending to determine the exact cause of death.

Khloe, a student in kindergarten and the daughter of a local teacher, was known for her bright and curious nature. Dr. Patrick Martin, the Superintendent of Trussville City Schools, expressed his deep sorrow over the loss and extended support to the grieving family. He emphasized the school district’s role as a close-knit community that deeply feels the impact of such losses.

Counseling services are being provided to help the community cope with this grief. As the investigation unfolds, the memory of Khloe as a vibrant and curious child remains in the hearts of those who knew her.
