Arizona Home Invasion: Married Couple Fatally Shot

On Saturday morning, November 11, 2023, residents of a Peoria, Arizona, neighborhood were jolted by a violent home invasion that ended the lives of a married couple.

Walter Mitchell, 52, and Susie Ephrem, 42, were fatally shot in their residence, situated near 79th and Peoria Avenues in Peoria.

The attack unfolded at approximately 4 a.m., when an unidentified assailant forcibly entered the couple’s dwelling. Mitchell succumbed to his injuries at the scene, whereas Ephrem passed away in the hospital later, despite receiving immediate medical attention.

Currently, the perpetrator of the crime has not been apprehended. The Peoria Police Department is actively seeking information from the public. Officials have indicated that the attack was likely intentional, and not a random act, pointing to the possibility of the couple being specifically targeted. However, the exact reason for this deadly assault remains unknown.

Ephrem placed the emergency call, saying she had been shot. 

According to neighbors, Mitchell and Ephrem had recently relocated to this neighborhood.
