October 1, 2023, marked a sad day for Six Flags Over Georgia as an accident led to the unfortunate death of Andrea Crook, a 43-year-old park employee from Villa Rica, Georgia. Reports state that Crook was ejected from a van in motion within the park.

Details provided by Cobb County Police clarify that Andrea Crook, a married mother of three, was in the rear cargo section of a 2004 Ford Econoline van. Alongside her were several other adults and two juveniles, all employees of the park. The incident occurred when Crook fell out the back door while the van, driven by Asia Hendricks, a 27-year-old park employee, was taking a left turn uphill on one of the park’s internal roads.

Emergency units from both the park and the local area immediately transported Crook to Grandy Memorial Hospital. The injury to her head, sustained when she struck the pavement, led to her unfortunate passing.

It is noted that the van used for transporting the employees to the Fright Fest event did not have seats in the cargo section. The Fright Fest is an annual Halloween event hosted by the park, attracting many visitors.

In the wake of the incident, park management has been actively cooperating with police investigations. As of now, no charges have been placed on the van’s driver, Asia Hendricks. Nevertheless, officials continue to evaluate the event’s specifics to determine any potential legal ramifications.
