A 41-year-old woman was discovered dead on September 30 in a temporary tent at Burke Lake Park, Fairfax Station, Virginia. This incident prompted an immediate investigation. Cara Abbruscato had sustained multiple stab wounds and lacerations on her upper body. While the official determination of the cause of death is pending autopsy results, the nature of her injuries has led to further inquiries.

Shortly after this tragic discovery, law enforcement apprehended a man identified as Rami El Sayed in Paterson, New Jersey. It was observed that El Sayed was operating Abbruscato’s vehicle as he left the park, enabling police to pinpoint his whereabouts. Preliminary investigations revealed that the association between Abbruscato and El Sayed was of a recent nature. Security footage from the park indicated they had been seen together on multiple occasions in the week leading up to the event.

Earlier in the month, there were reports that Abbruscato was missing, which generated concerns regarding her mental well-being. She was located safe later that day. An individual camping at the same location recalled a conversation with Abbruscato in which she discussed her previous narcotics possession and hinted at a romantic involvement with El Sayed.
