On Friday, October 20, officials in Sanford, Florida, found the bodies of two five-year-old twins in a residence after their mother’s death resulted from a jump off a bridge.

The twins were identified as Ahmad and Ava Jackson.

Their mother, Catorreia Hutto, 31, was identified after her body was retrieved from beneath the State Road 417 bridge that spans Lake Jesup. The events or reasons leading up to her actions are not yet determined. According to initial assessments by investigators, Hutto may have caused the deaths of her children before she decided to end her life.

Upon the recovery of Hutto’s body, a wellness check was carried out at her household. It was during this check that deputies found the twins, dead, in their bunk beds. While a firearm was present in the children’s bedroom, there were no indications that it had been used on them.

Law enforcement continues to probe the rationale behind Hutto’s actions. As the investigation moves forward, officials remain open to all possibilities, aiming to uncover the truth.
