Attorney’s Testimony Leads Trump to Storm Out of New York Fraud Trial

In the midst of his civil fraud trial in New York City, New York, Donald Trump made an abrupt exit after listening to testimony from his previous attorney, Michael Cohen. This trial, concerning the former president, has been the focus of the media for the past four weeks.

In his testimony, Cohen stated that Trump had artificially raised his asset values to secure financial benefits. Trump’s legal representatives tried to challenge Cohen’s credibility, highlighting his earlier instances of lying under oath and evading taxes. Yet, Cohen persisted in his stance, mentioning that Trump’s monetary records were adjusted to represent a higher net worth.

Following Cohen’s declarations, Trump quickly left the court premises and engaged with the media. He expressed confidence in winning the trial based on Cohen’s testimony. Contrary to Trump’s belief, Judge Arthur Engoron dismissed this notion. When one of Trump’s lawyers requested a final verdict in the trial, Judge Engoron firmly responded, “Absolutely denied.” He emphasized the ample evidence that strengthens the $250 million lawsuit put forth by New York Attorney General James against Trump, his three offspring, and the Trump Organization.

Trump’s conduct during the trial also led to penalties. He breached a court-imposed silence order and faced fines on two occasions. The recent fine imposed on him was $10,000 for comments he made about the judge’s aide.

The trial has brought attention to the possible deceptive business methods employed by Trump. After departing from the courtroom, Trump took to social media, primarily attacking Cohen. This trial is a significant legal test for Trump, and with persuasive arguments from both ends, the final outcome remains unpredictable.
