Teen Arrested After Louisiana School Shooting: 1 Fatality

On September 12, a shooting occurred at St. Helena College & Career Academy in Greensburg, Louisiana. The incident resulted in one individual losing their life and two others sustaining injuries. The St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the details of the shooting.

The two injured students were provided medical assistance at a nearby hospital. Law enforcement officials apprehended a 14-year-old student believed to be involved in the event. Specifics regarding the suspected shooter’s identity and the reasons for the incident are yet to be shared with the public.

At this time, the identities of those affected remain confidential. The incident took place near the time of school dismissal, approximately 3:30 pm. After the incident, law enforcement presence was evident around the school’s campus.

St. Helena College & Career Academy is situated in Louisiana and is about an hour’s drive from Baton Rouge. 

In response to the tragic event, Louisiana’s Governor John Bel Edwards offered his condolences and stressed the need for legislative action against gun violence.
