An accident involving a Greyhound bus and an SUV occurred on Route 32, close to the I-95 intersection, early Thursday, August 31. This unfortunate event led to one person losing their life and injuries to 18 others.
Reports from Howard County police in Maryland provided an account of the accident. At approximately 3:24 am, the Greyhound bus, carrying 38 passengers eastward, was hit head-on by a Buick Enclave SUV. The SUV was moving west but was in the eastbound lane when the collision took place.
The male SUV driver was pronounced dead at the accident site. Those injured, the bus driver included, were promptly transported to surrounding hospitals for medical attention. All injuries were deemed non-severe.
The collision disrupted traffic on a primary route situated between Washington, D.C., and Baltimore. Consequently, the eastbound lane of Route 32 near I-95 was closed off for the morning. An official investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision has begun.
The Howard County police department is appealing to the public for any relevant information or eyewitness accounts regarding the incident.
