On August 28, in a residential area in Allen, Texas, a family was found dead under circumstances pointing to a potential murder-suicide.
The deceased include parents Farman and Layla Sherwani, and their children, Mateen, 2, and Shaheen, 12.
Notably, the family had suffered a tragedy just weeks prior when their four-year-old daughter drowned. Sergeant Jonathan Maness of the Allen Police Department shared that detectives are factoring in the prior incident during their investigation.
The revelation of the deaths came after police were alerted by a family member who couldn’t enter the home.
The Islamic Association of Allen subsequently hosted a prayer vigil, attended by numerous community members.
The investigation continues.
