Former NFL Player’s Son Dies in Georgia Car Accident

Former NFL player Hugh Douglas is grieving the loss of his son and his son’s college roommate following a car crash in Georgia. 

The accident occurred in East Point, southwest of Atlanta, where the two 20-year-olds were fatally injured when their car collided with two utility poles and overturned.

Eyewitness reports suggest that the tragedy took place as their vehicle tried to overtake another car at high speeds, leading Christion Files Jr. to lose control. The incident occurred at around 5 pm on Monday, September 4.

Hugh Douglas Sr. has since expressed his sorrow on social media platforms, sharing memories and photos of his son, Hugh Douglas Jr.

The deceased were students at Morehouse College. Hugh Douglas Jr. pursued a degree in business administration, concentrating on finance, while Files Jr. specialized in marketing.

Morehouse College recognized Hugh Douglas Jr. for his academic dedication, specifically noting his participation in business and finance groups.

Christion Files Jr. held roles such as the co-captain of the college’s track and field team, media chair for the junior class council, and was a part of the Morehouse Business Association.

Hugh Douglas Sr., aside from his notable NFL tenure, currently works as a radio show host in Philadelphia. His coworkers and the radio station have extended their sympathies for his loss.
