Emma Heming-Willis spoke on Monday about the current health situation of her husband, actor Bruce Willis.

Bruce Willis is renowned for his remarkable performances across various movie genres, with notable works in “Die Hard,” “Pulp Fiction,” “The Sixth Sense,” and “Armageddon.”

Following his 2022 diagnosis of aphasia, it was recently disclosed that Willis is also grappling with frontotemporal dementia.

In a segment on the “Today” show with Hoda Kotb, Mrs. Willis, 45, stated, “Dementia is a condition that affects the diagnosed individual and their loved ones. It’s truly an ailment that affects families as a whole.” She described the multifaceted process of comprehending and dealing with her husband’s condition, citing both its positive and challenging aspects.

She discussed the difficulty in determining the extent of her husband’s understanding of his condition. Keeping their daughters, Mabel, 11, and Evelyn, 9, in the loop regarding their father’s health is a priority for her. Emphasizing clear communication in their home, she wants to ensure that her daughters are equipped with factual information about dementia, insulating them from potential misconceptions.

Choosing to identify as Willis’ “care partner,” Heming-Willis highlighted the ongoing influence the actor has on their children, instilling values of “patience, resilience” and foundational lessons of “care and love.” She remarked, “Bruce advocates living in the current moment.”

In the previous year, the broader Willis family, including Demi Moore, Bruce Willis’ ex-wife, and their three adult children, unveiled his aphasia diagnosis. This revelation influenced the decision of the two-time Emmy award-winner to step back from his film career. The collective family statement shed light on Willis’ unwavering commitment to positive causes and key topics, underlining his integrity in both his public and private life.

With a successful career spanning over three decades, Bruce Willis, 68, has taken on roles from the heroic John McClane in “Die Hard” to the insightful Dr. Malcolm Crowe in “The Sixth Sense.” His dedication and prowess in acting have earned him a significant place in the realm of cinema.
