An Oklahoma sheriff’s deputy was taken into custody on Wednesday, Aug. 30, accused of the fatal shooting of his spouse.
Oklahoma City Police Department responded to a distress call and discovered Deputy Jordan Cannon dead, with signs pointing to a gunshot as the cause.
The police reported finding Vaughn Cannon, aged 41, at the residence when they arrived. Initial investigation insights suggest a fiery argument between the pair preceded the fatal gunshot.
Both members of the Cannon family had jobs as deputies serving Cleveland County.
Sheriff Chris Amason from the local sheriff’s office reflected on the life and service of Jordan Cannon, 40. He recalled her for her unwavering positivity and dedication to her job. Furthermore, he announced the provision of support structures, like counseling sessions, to aid the staff and community during these trying times.
