A 33-year-old Pennsylvania mother of two died in an accident on Friday, August 11, while attending the Union County West End Fair in Laurelton.

The unfortunate incident occurred during a tractor-pull event around 8:30 p.m. Brandy Horner was critically injured when an exhaust wheel fragment, dislodged from its tractor mount, struck her in the neck.

Immediate medical aid was administered at the site, and Horner was swiftly taken to Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg. However, Union County Coroner Dominick Adamo confirmed her passing within an hour of the accident.

Dennis Boop, the president of the Union County West End Fair, clarified that the area lacked protective barriers. He classified the event as an unforeseen accident. Investigations by the Pennsylvania State Police attributed the mishap to equipment failure, ruling out any malicious intent or criminal act.

Brandy Horner’s obituary celebrated her devotion to her family, mentioning her commendable work at The Learning Lamp in Richland, where she advocated ardently for early education.

In the wake of the incident, fair officials suspended events at the pulling track for that day. Nevertheless, other fair activities proceeded as scheduled.
