KFC Worker Shoots Woman in Restaurant Parking Lot

A 23-year-old KFC employee is in custody following a shooting incident at a Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet in Savannah, Georgia. 

The shooter was identified as Sherman Hendrix.

The episode took place on Thursday, August 10, during the lunch hour around 12:30 pm in the establishment’s parking lot. Savannah Police Department responded swiftly to the crime scene on W. Gwinnett Street.

The injured party, a woman whose identity remains unknown, received critical gunshot wounds. Medical personnel promptly transported her to a nearby health facility, where her condition remains unspecified. 

According to Savannah Police Chief Lenny Gunther, this was not an arbitrary act of violence, indicating there may be an underlying connection between Hendrix and the victim. However, the circumstances preceding the incident are still under wraps.

Authorities apprehended Hendrix, charging him with aggravated assault. Presently, he is at the Chatham County Jail without the option of bond. Further investigations into the motivations and affiliations are ongoing.
