On Monday, August 21, Tracy Marie Fiorenza, a 41-year-old from Plainfield, Illinois, made her initial court appearance. Federal officials have detailed that Fiorenza confessed to threatening the lives of former President Donald Trump and his son, Barron.
The appearance took place at the Dirksen Federal Building before Judge Jeffrey Cummings, where Fiorenza affirmed her identity and was apprised of the charges. She is charged with making threats to shoot both the former President and his son.
A federal complaint, issued in Florida’s Southern District, documents Fiorenza’s admittance to sending threatening emails to a school principal located in Palm Beach County. An email from May 21 contained a message indicating she would, if given an opportunity, shoot Donald Trump and Barron. A subsequent email on June 5 expressed intentions to harm Barron in the presence of his father.
Federal charges against Fiorenza revolve around her making explicit threats to cause harm or death through commercial internet emails. Monday’s court session primarily aimed to initiate the process of relocating Fiorenza to Florida for prosecution.
Fiorenza, who was an employee of Chicago Public Schools from September 2019 until her termination in August 2020, has a detention hearing slated for Wednesday, August 23.
