The father of Tennessee Titans cornerback Caleb Farley has lost his life due to a home explosion at their home in Mooresville, North Carolina.
The NFL player’s North Carolina home experienced the blast, resulting in his father, Robert M. Farley’s fatality and injury to a 25-year-old family friend, Christian Rogers.
Farley’s father, 61, was found amidst the debris in a back bedroom, and Christian Rogers, a long-time friend of Caleb, emerged with a concussion.
Caleb Farley, 24, away in Nashville during the incident, received a call from a neighbor delivering the distressing news.
Investigations into the explosion’s origin continue, with suspicions that accumulated gas found an ignition source. The explosion, confirmed as accidental, originated in a bedroom.
The property, which spans 6,391 square feet and is situated on Lake Norman, suffered severe damage, along with destruction of several vehicles. Insulation and debris were scattered around the area, leaving the neighborhood visibly affected.
Caleb Farley, known for his role as a first-round draft pick in 2021, has faced challenges due to injuries in his initial seasons with the Titans.
